Intro
Finding reading help in Kingston is hard enough. Finding help that does not require pulling a child out of school is even harder.
Many reading programs in Kingston operate during the school day, which means early pickups, missed classes, and complicated schedules for families. Limestone Reading Lab was created to offer a different option: focused reading help after school, in the evenings, and on weekends.
Why after-school reading help matters
For many students, missing school time to attend reading programs creates new problems instead of solving old ones.
Parents often say that:
- their child has to leave class early multiple times a week
- important lessons or social time are missed
- the school day becomes fragmented and tiring
- managing transportation becomes stressful
After-school and weekend lessons allow students to get the reading help they need without disrupting their school routine.
Who this is for
After-school reading help at Limestone Reading Lab is designed for children and teens who:
- struggle with reading but attend school full time
- are on long waitlists for school-day programs
- feel overwhelmed by being pulled out of class
- need consistent reading support outside school hours
- benefit from calm, one-to-one instruction
This approach works especially well for families who want reading support that fits around real life, not the other way around.
How reading help works here
Instruction is always one-to-one and focused on the foundations of reading.
Sessions may include work on:
- decoding and word reading
- reading accuracy and fluency
- reading stamina and confidence
- understanding how written language works
There are no packaged programs and no school-style assessments. Teaching is adjusted based on what the student actually does while reading, session by session.
Evening and weekend availability
Limestone Reading Lab offers reading help:
- after school
- in the evenings
- on weekends
This flexibility allows families to schedule lessons at times when students are rested, focused, and not rushing back to class.
